We are long overdue for more officer weapons, as the only officer weapons in the game are the ones that originally launched with Dust closed beta. So why not run a contest of sorts? This was influenced by this post, https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1716166#post1716166

While it might be easily accessible to you guys, it's much harder for anyone that isn't an immortal engineered death dealing machine to get their hands on, mainly because there are a few kinks that still need to be worked out (such as that issue where the Ishukone Assault Rail Rifle keeps breaking the test subject's arms, or the Duvolle Assault rifle keeps setting people on fire when they shoot it - but we'll get back to that).
Officer weapons however are much rarer as they are specially modified for the officers in question (who are all skilled soldiers in their own right that you would not want to meet on a dark night) beyond what prototype gear provides. Then I would like to officially request that we rename the "Balac" to the "ReGnYuM" then, and the "Krin" to the "xprotoman". Other officer weapons can be renamed by others, these belong to those two. Since day one of Dust, seeing them on the other side has caused a pucker factor 9.9 to run through the entire other team, and 99% of what I've seen them run has been the AR. This could make for an interesting event. Perhaps a month-long contest where the goal is to get the highest number of kills with each prototype weapon. Those winners will get an officer version of that weapon named after them and they would be allowed to design the stats for it as well within CCP guidelines.
So it would just be that. Over the course of a month, CCP would keep track of who can rally up the most kills with each individual prototype weapon. The winners would get an officer version of that weapon named after them and be allowed to design the stats to their liking within CCP guidelines.
